Lou, a wonderful but headstrong miniature dachshund was our first
pup, and we had problems from the start. They only increased as she grew up. Lou
growled when fed, frequently snapped at us and wouldn’t listen. We read
books, and searched the Internet for training suggestions... but nothing worked
until Marsha Dominguez came to visit.
We were committed to not punishing our little dog, yet wondered at first if Marsha’s
non-coercive methods would actually work. She spent a long time getting to know
Lou, and then teaching all of us together as a family. We learned the use of the
clicker; how and when to ignore or reward various behaviors, and many fundamentals
of “dog-think “ we’d never even considered.
With continued guidance, Lou became steadily better behaved, more responsive and
much happier. And we were happier, too. I cannot say enough about Marsha! She
has our ever-lasting thanks. You cannot put a price on her commitment, compassion,
knowledge, patience and warmth. She is truly the Best of (the New )Breed of dog
trainers!
